Ozark Voices

Ozark Voices began in 2019 with a series of recorded oral histories of residents of Madison County Missouri. The series is expected to continue in 2024 with new additions from residents in both Iron and Madison counties.

You'll see links to all interviews on this page. Click a name to see the page for that interview. In the corner of the interview page you'll see a small media player which you can use to play the full audio interview. Each interview page also has the full text of the transcript. Please note these are rough transcripts are processed using machine learning. While they are fairly accurate they will likely some errors. While they are fairly readable they do not indicate who is speaking though it is usually clear by the content when the text is a question of the interviewer and when it is the answer provided by the interviewee.
